Differences and use cases

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat (M365 Copilot Chat) is an AI-based chatbot that searches the web for answers to answer your prompts. It is a functionality free feature included in the UT user account package that allows for University of Tartu employees and students. When using Copilot Chat with a University of Tartu user account, you have the option to use an artificial intelligence-based chatbot for freeview your chat history. Your data is securely stored, and Microsoft does not use your input data to train its AI.

• Microsoft Copilot Chat is suitable for simple searches and web content analysiswell-suited for quick information searches, generating new ideas and content, summarizing large amounts of information, and simplifying workflows.

Microsoft 365 Copilot (M365 Copilot) accesses all of your M365 app content is an AI-based tool integrated into Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, etc.). This means that within the application, there is a chatbot that brings information from both web materials and your own documents or other Microsoft applications.
