Installing

Setting up

the VPN connection

  1. Open your web browser and enter the url https://tunnel2.ut.ee.

  2. Enter your UT the username and password of your University of Tartu account (login with username and password. Click ) and click LOG IN.

  3. Click the link Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent to download GlobalProtect VPN software to your computer.

  4. Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.
    In the Do you want to To allow downloads on "from tunnel2.ut.ee" window, click Allow.

Establishing

the VPN connection

  1. To establish a the VPN connection, you need to have GlobalProtect software installed on your computer.
  2. Launch the GlobalProtect software, an icon will appear at the notification area.

  3. In the Portal field, enter "tunnel2.ut.ee" and  and click Connect.

  4. Fill the fields as following: 
  5. Kasutajanimi: UT username.
  6. Salasõna: UT password.
  7. Click Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account (login with username and password) and select Connect.

  8. GlobalProtect VPN is connected successfully.

Disconnecting the VPN connection

  1. To disconnect an active VPN connection, click on the GlobalProtect icon (an icon at the notification area).

Updating the VPN client

  1. GlobalProtect VPN client software is updated centrally.
    If the client software update is available, the user gets notified about the newer version. Click Download.

When this error occurs, enable Enable Palo Alto Networks as a trusted developer.

  1. From your Mac endpoint, launch Open System Preferences.
  2. Open the Select the Security & Privacy preferences and then select General.
  3. Click the lock icon on the bottom left of the window to make changes and modify preferences.
  4. When prompted, enter your Mac User Name username and Password password and then Unlock the preferences.
  5. Click "Allow" next to the message "Next to System software from developer "Palo Alto Networks" was blocked from loading, click the Allow button."
