In this guide, you will find instructions for connecting via GlobalProtect VPN on a Mac device.
The IT department recommends using the EduVPN client, check EduVPN connection (Mac).

- Open your web browser and enter the url https://tunnel2.ut.ee.
- Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account (login with username and password)
- Click the link Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent to download GlobalProtect VPN software to your computer.
- Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.
To allow downloads from tunnel2.ut.ee, click Allow.
- The GlobalProtect.pkg installation package will appear in the upper-right corner and begin downloading.
- Click the downloaded installation package to open the installer window.
- Click Continue, and finally click Install.
- During the installation, you may be prompted to use Touch ID or enter your device password.
- After the installation is complete, click Close in the installer.
To establish a connection, the GlobalProtect software must be installed on your computer.
Launch the GlobalProtect application. Its icon can be found in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Alternatively, click the Apps icon in the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
- In the Portal field, enter "tunnel2.ut.ee" and click Connect.

- Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account (in the format username@ut.ee).
- GlobalProtect VPN is connected successfully.
To disconnect, the GlobalProtect software must be installed on your computer.
Launch the GlobalProtect application. Its icon can be found in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- Alternatively, click the Apps icon in the Dock at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Disconnect.
- GlobalProtect VPN client software is updated centrally.
If the client software update is available, the user gets notified about the newer version. Click Download.
After the update has been downloaded, click Install.
