Microsoft Teams

  • Powerful Microsoft teamwork software that includes video conferencing and seminar capabilities.
  • Peculiarities and essential facts:
    • The Teams license is included in the MS O365 package for the entire university family. Check Install Microsoft Office 365.
    • Well integrated with other teamwork features - instant chats, collaborative document processing and file management.
    • Important - video meetings or seminars can be initiated by any user.
    • Video recordings of meetings are recorded in the MS Stream application and immediately available to meeting participants.
      • In addition, access can be flexibly shared with people or teams.
      • Anonymous sharing is not allowed.
      • The recording can be downloaded and shared in other environments.
    • Computer and smart device apps are available. It can also be used through a web browser.
    • Users can participate in the meeting both by logging in and anonymously.
    • Using the application, it is possible to see 49 video images simultaneously.
    • Integration with the University of Tartu learning environment Moodle is being tested.

    • BBB allows real-time video, audio, slides, computer screen, chat room and white board sharing.
    • There are no license costs.

Teams Live Event

  • Microsoft's solution for producing and delivering large video conferences.
  • Peculiarities and essential facts:
    • The Teams Live Event license is included in the MS O365 package purchased for the entire university family (17,000+).
    • Broadcast preparation and content sharing occur in the Teams app, and professional audio and video equipment is not required.
    • You can watch the broadcast on the Teams desktop, mobile application, or web browsers.

Panopto

  • Panopto is a software that allows you to record videos and choose whether to record video camera image and audio, presentation and/or computer screen.
  • Peculiarities and essential facts:
    • Integrated with the University of Tartu learning environment Moodle.
    • The Panopto recording program is installed on all computers in the UT domain.
    • Panopto is free for faculty and staff as long as the Panopto folder is assigned Creator rights.
    • Students can also use Panopto if granted the appropriate rights in a Panopto folder.
    • The recorded video can then be cut online, privately, or in public under appropriate conditions.
    • Panopto allows you to make a Webcast (a webcast with a delay of about 30 seconds).

  • A popular and capable video conferencing solution
  • Peculiarities and important facts:
    • The Zoom license is purchased for the entire university family and users with a university email address.
    • In addition, three Zoom Webinar licenses have been acquired, two of which can accommodate 500 people and one can accommodate 1,000 people.
    • To use the webinar, please get in touch with Arvutiabi at arvutiabi@ut.ee or phone 737 5500 (5500).
    • Important - video meetings or seminars can be initiated by any user.
    • Computer and smart device apps are available. It can also be used through a web browser.
    • Users can participate in the meeting both by logging in and anonymously.
    • In the meeting, it is possible to see video images of all participants. 25 video images visible at once in the web version and 49 video images using the app.
    • Video recordings can be made to the user's computer (including several simultaneously), and the recording can be uploaded to Onedrive and NextCloud and shared from there.
    • Each room is associated with a room administrator (host), and events can be planned for others (one user can run two active meetings simultaneously).
    • There is an integration with the University of Tartu learning environment Moodle.
