In this guide, you will find instructions about mobile services and frequently asked questions and answers about them.

Opening gates and barriers. It is important that the code contains the 5th place "*", i.e. 1895*xx, where xx is the gate/barrier code. When calling from the Telia network, the code without "*" also works, but when calling from Elisa, the exact format is important.

For more information, also check Intranet: Telephone use and Intranet: Call.

  • Mobile ID contracts can only be signed in Telia self-service >> Settings and additional services.
  • PS! This option is not available in Telia's physical offices.
  • To use self-service, a personal identification number must be present in the Telia mobile user's data. If the personal identification number is not added, contact Arvutiabi.
  • In order to conclude a Mobile ID contract, a private billing contract must be concluded. The conclusion of a private billing agreement is free of charge.

NB! A valid ID card and its PIN codes are required to sign a Mobile ID contract. If they are missing, new ones can be requested from PPA.

  • The new Mobile ID PIN codes are located on the back of the SIM card in a scratchable/hidden part.
  • If you want to keep using your old PIN codes, you can do so after activating the Mobile ID service on your mobile phone. The Mobile-ID menu appears when you insert the Mobile-ID SIM card in your mobile phone. You can change PIN codes in the Change codes subsection of the Mobile-ID menu. You can unlock locked PIN codes with the PUK code from the Mobile-ID menu in the Unblock subsection. PIN/PUK codes must not be known by anyone other than you, so keep them carefully and safely!
On Apple devices, Settings > Mobile Data > SIM applications > Mobile ID.

Telia offers various paid convenience services (m-parking, digital media subscriptions, etc.). Based on the order of the chancellor, it is not allowed to use these services from the university number. If the user of the university's phone number wants to use the mentioned services, he must sign a private billing agreement, in which case the fees for convenience services will be reflected on his personal account. The use of the private account contract service does not require the consumption of any other service in Telia, and the service is also not accompanied by a subscription or monthly fee.

Private billing contracts can only be concluded at Telia's self-service, for which the mobile user's personal code must be associated with the mobile number.

More information about the private invoice can be found at Private invoice for the user of the employer's number - Telia.

Instructions for concluding a private invoice contract.

To terminate a private billing agreement, contact the Elisa office, send an e-mail to ariklient@elisa.ee or contact them on phone 6 600 620 (personal identification number is asked).

  • Service usage statistics can be viewed from the mobile operator's self-service or from the Minu Telia app on your smartphone. You can also ask for information from Arvutiabi.
  • Using Telia's self-service requires linking your personal identification number to the phone number.
  • If the phone supports the addition of two physical SIM cards or an e-SIM (newer Android and Apple phones), it is possible to use the number associated with one operator's network, for example a family package, and the university number in the Telia network.
  • More information about e-SIM: eSIM or electronic SIM card for business customers - Telia (in Estonian).
  • In the case of work related parking, a mobile parking report must be completed, and in the case of overspending, a submission to the financial manager must be submitted. Here, a situation may arise where the excess cost is greater than the parking cost, and then it is up to the head of the structural unit to decide how much to compensate and from which financial source to compensate from.
  • If the employee's number is not under UT, he submits an expense report, which must also include a justification for parking.
  • The expense report is submitted because the special discount should not be paid. The report can be found here.
  • In the university package, all numbers have the option to activate the E-mail to SMS service, which allows you to send SMS to the given number.
  • To use the service, you must send an e-mail to the address: 372phonenumber@sms.telia.ee and the recipient will see it as an SMS on their phone.
  • The following services can be used in the university package:
    • Mobile ID.
    • eSIM.
    • Voice mail.
    • A knock.
    • Email as SMS.
    • VoLTE.
    • VoWiFi.
  • The requested services can be activated in Telia's self-service or by making a ticket to Arvutiabi portal here.
  • To order other additional services and/or get price information, please see self-service or contact Arvutiabi.
  • Before going abroad, you should familiarize yourself with the packages of the destination country and their prices. This is especially important if you are traveling outside the European Union. When traveling outside the EU, all internet usage is subject to a charge. When going on a multi-day trip, it is worth buying a weekly package.
  • To order a weekly package, you must send an SMS to the number 9560 with the keyword "NADAL COUNTRY CODE" valid in the country, for example "NADAL USA". The weekly package can be ordered up to seven days in advance, and it will be activated when you start using the internet on the foreign operator's network for the first time after ordering the package. The weekly package is valid for 7 days from activation or until the capacity is full.
  • To familiarize yourself with the prices, we recommend using the following website: Calls, messages, and internet abroad or the Minu Telia app on your smartphone.
  • If the weekly package is not ordered, the daily package is automatically applied the moment you arrive in a foreign country and the smartphone connects to the network of the foreign operator.
  • If you do not want to use the Internet while traveling, you should turn off your mobile data connection before reaching the destination country, because phones use the network in the background, even though the user of the number does not do so directly. If the data connection is not turned off, you have to take into account possible additional costs, which can be quite high outside the EU. By default, the monthly internet limit for each smartphone abroad (outside the EU) is 60 euros, if it seems that this is not enough, please let us know about this to the computer help (arvutiabi@ut.ee), University of Tartu IT helpdesk or by phone at 737 5500. Weekly package orders are not included in the limit.
  • When the internet capacity is full, an SMS notification will be sent and additional capacity can be purchased based on the link in the SMS.
  • You can order the Weekly Internet package and track your used data volume in Telia's self-service and Minu Telia app.
  • Each number has a monthly usage limit, which can be changed in the university's document management system according to the office's instructions (from the menu "Otsi"-"Avaldus/esildis/sisedokument"-"Sideteenuste kasutamise avaldus").
  • NB! If you exceed the usage cost limit set for the number, the excess amount will be deducted from your salary.

Report this to IT helpdesk as soon as possible by e-mail at computer arvutiabi@ut.ee, University of Tartu IT helpdesk or by phone at 737 5500 so that we can close the SIM card.
