titleInstalling the VPN client from the Software Center (UT domain computer)
  1. In order to open the Software Center, you can use the Start menu or search::
    1. Using the Start menu:
      1. Click the Start menu icon in the bottom-left side of your screen.

      2. Type Software Center and open the application by clicking on the Software Center icon.

    2. Using Search:
      1. Type Software Center into the search bar on the bottom-left of your screen.

      2. Open the application by clicking the Software Center icon.

  2. From the applications list, select GlobalProtect.

  3. To start the installation process, click the Install button.

  4. GlobalProtect has been successfully installed!

Setting up the VPN connection

1. Go to

  1. Go to
  1. https://tunnel2.ut.ee.

  1. Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account
in the Username field.

3. Enter the password associated with your account in the Password field.

4. Click on the link that says 
  1.  (login with username and password).

  2. Click on the link Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect agent, to download the installer for your device.

  1. Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.
    If you don't have permissions to install software

  2. Click Next → Next → Next.

  3. In the end of the installation, you will see a confirmation, that GlobalProtect has been successfully installed. Click Close.

Right click on the icon, on the window that opens type

titleEstablishing a VPN connection
  1. To establish a VPN connection, you need to have GlobalProtect software installed on your computer.
  2. Launch the GlobalProtect VPN software
, an icon will appear at the notification area.

  1. . Click on the downwards arrow on the right side of your screen Show hidden icons and select GlobalProtect.

  1. tunnel2.ut.ee
 and then Connect...

 After entering your username and password, click Sign In.

  2. Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account (in the format username@ut.,ee).

  1. To disconnect an active VPN connection,
right click on the GlobalProtect VPN icon.
  • Click Disconnect.
    1. launch GlobalProtect by clicking on the downwards arrow on the right side of your screen (Show hidden icons) and select GlobalProtect.

    VPN client
    1. GlobalProtect VPN client software is updated centrally.
    1. If the client software update is available, the user gets notified about the newer version.
