1. Make sure you are connected to the university network (physical cable, eduroam wifi or a VPN)
2. Open the Apple menu from the top-left corner and choose System Preferences -> Printers & Scanners -> click on the "+" to add a new printer.
   
   
   
   
3. Hold down CTRL on the keyboard and click on the top panel of the window (see the arrow on the next picture) and choose "Customize Toolbar". This will open a new window, where you will need to drag and drop the "Advanced" button to the top panel of the previous window (see picture below). Click Done, when the button has been placed into the panel.
   
   
4. Now click on Advanced and add the following settings-> Type: Windows Printer via spoolss, URL: smb://printserver.ut.ee/printer-name (NB! printer-name has to be changed to the name of the printer in the printserver. If you don-t know it, ask the helpdesk for information); Name: UT Printer, Use: Generic Postscript Printer and click "Add". In the next window put a tick in the Duplex printing checkbox in order to print on both sides of the paper.
   The following images show how to add a black and white secure printer (printer's where you need to log on or use your card to access your print jobs).
   
   
5. When printing for the first time, you will be asked for a username and password. As your username, enter the university's username in form of domenis\username and your password. We also suggest to tick the checkbox, which will allow the computer to remember your credentials - this way you will not need to enter your username and password when printing the next time

Linux

Juhendi koostamisel on kasutatud Ubuntu versiooni 16.04 LTS.

1. Veendu, et arvutisse on paigaldatud smbclient viimane versioon. Selleks ava terminal ja sisesta sinna järgmine käsk

2. Ava System Settings. Avanenud aknas otsi valik Printers ja vajuta selle peale.

3. Avanenud aknas vajuta nupule Add.

4. Sisesta Device URI reale järgmine aadress ja vajuta nupule Forward:

5. Järgmises aknas ära valikud muuda. Jäta printeri driveri valikuks Generic. Vajuta nupule Forward.

6. Vali driveri mudeliks PostScript ja driveriks Generic PostScript Printer, Seejärel vajuta nupule Forward.

7. Lisa linnuke valikule Duplexer ja vajuta nupule Forward.

8. Anna printerile nimi (nt Printer) ja vajuta nupule Apply.
