In this guide, you will find instructions about setting up a network printer.

Before setting up, make sure that:

  • The operating system has been updated (in case of error messages, check for system updates);
  • The computer must be connected either to the UT network with a cable or to eduroam with WiFi;
  • The user must have administrator rights on the computer.

Guides

If you have changed the password of your user account, you must log in again with a new password during the initial setup.

Network printers are automatically connected to computers in the University domain - a specific printer according to the group to which the user belongs.

If you do not see printers or have any other problem with network printers, contact IT helpdesk.

If you have changed the password of your user account, the added printer should be removed from the computer and added again using the instructions above.

  1. Open the start menu (or use search) and type Credential Manager.

  2. In the windows that opens, select Windows Credentials and then click the Add a Windows credentials button.
  3. Fill in the blanks as following and click OK.
    1. Internet or network address: printserver1.domenis.ut.ee
    2. Username: domenis\username
    3. Password: UT account password

  4. Open the Run application (key combination Win + R or write Run in the search box), enter the following command: \\printserver1.domenis.ut.ee and press the OK button.
  5. A list of printers will open, click View → Details to get the best view.
  6. Find the right printer from the list and start the driver installation by double-clicking on the corresponding printer. When prompted for a username and password, enter an account with administrator rights.
  7. If the computer asks for permission to install additional drivers, allow it by pressing the Yes button. Click the Finish button to complete the installation process.

NB! If you change the password associated with your UT user account, it must be changed in the Credential Manager of the computer.

  • Credential Manager → Windows Credentials → printserver1.domenis.ut.ee → Edit.
