Introduction

Most of the time, the software that comes with a print server should make the procedure simple for you. Although various server software is employed by different manufacturers, the procedure is frequently the same.

Windows

  1. Your computer has to be connected to the university's network using a network cable, eduroam wireless or a VPN connection.
    NB! Printing will not work when using the ut-public wireless network.
  2.  When you are connected to the university's network, open the Run window by pressing the +keys. Enter the address \\printserver1.domenis.ut.ee.

     

  3. When prompted for a username and password, enter your university password in the following form: domenis\username.
    NB! Make sure you check the box to remember your password, otherwise printing will not work after restarting the computer.
  4. After logging in, a list of printers will be displayed. 


  5. To connect the secure printer, find the device called PRINTER. Right click on the device and choose Connect.


  6. When asked to install additional drivers for the printer, click Yes

Mac OS X

Your computer has to be connected to the university's network using a network cable, eduroam wireless or a VPN connection.
NB! Printing will not work when using the ut-public wireless network.

Automatic configuration is currently unavailable. To setup a printer, please follow the manual printer setup guide: Manual printer configuration.

Automatic configuration

  1. Download and execute the automatic configuration package from the following address: http://printserver.ut.ee/drivers/PS.dmg

  2. While printing, you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter your university's username in the form of domenis\username and the password in the usual manner. Check the box if you wish the computer to remember your password - this way you will not be prompted for your credentials again.

Linux

These instrcutions are based on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.

Your computer has to be connected to the university's network using a network cable, eduroam wireless or a VPN connection.
NB! Printing will not work when using the ut-public wireless network.

  1. To install the printer, download and execute the following script
    1. 32-bit: http://printserver.ut.ee/drivers/DEB32.sh
    2. 64-bit: http://printserver.ut.ee/drivers/DEB64.sh

  2. While printing, you will be prompted for a username and password. Enter your university's username in the form of domenis\username and the password in the usual manner. Check the box if you wish the computer to remember your password - this way you will not be prompted for your credentials again.

Configuring the printer after changing your password

After changing your account's password, it is necessary to remove the printer from your device and add it again using the instructions displayed on this page.
