In this guide, you will find instructions about connecting a network drive.
You can store Your documents on a personal or a department networks share. Access to network shares is restricted with a password and backups are made once every 24 hours.
A personal network share is named and is connected automatically when logging in to a domain computer. The personal network share is marked as disk H:. A department network share is usually named after the department.
Access to network shares is restricted to the internal network of the university. You can access the network shares using VPN when away from the campus.

Open File Explorer (to open, click Windows key + E or click the folder icon on your taskbar).
Right-click on This PC and click the Map network drive button..


Check Reconnect at sign-in, otherwise the drive won't be reattached when you restart your computer and the whole process will have to be repeated.
After filling in the cells, press the Finish button to connect.
After clicking the button, you may be asked for a username and password. The characteristics are the same as in the university's other systems, i.e. the so-called e-mail ones.
NB! Write your username in the form of domenis\username.

Mac OS XIn Mac OS X you have to open Finder, choose Connect to Server... from Go menu.
Write smb://pohl.ut.ee to add your personal drive or smb://kivi.ut.ee to add your structural unit's drive into the Server Address field. Use the same credentials you use to log into other UT services. PS! Write your username in the form of domenis\username. Choose the network drive that you need to connect to. Linux (Ubuntu 18.04)Click File Manager on the dock and click Other Locations in the sidebar.
In login windows select " Registered User" Enter your username, Domain "domenis" and password.
For department shares select your department folder from the list

UT's network shares are accessible outside of UT's network i.e. home network. For that, VPN connection must be used.
VPN connection provides you access to use internal UT services like accessing network shares or printing.
