Setting up the VPN
connectionclient
- Go to https://tunnel2.ut.ee.
- Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account in the Username field.
- Enter the password associated with your account in the Password field.
- (login with username and password).
- Click Click on the link Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect agent, to download the installer for your device.
- Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.
If you don't have permissions to install software then , contact the IT support. - Click Next → Next → Next.
- In the end of the installation, you will see a confirmation, that GlobalProtect has been successfully installed. Click Close.
Establishing a VPN connection
- To establish a VPN connection, you need to have GlobalProtect software installed on your computer.
- Launch the GlobalProtect VPN software. Click on the downwards arrow on the right side of your screen (Show hidden icons) and and select GlobalProtect.
- Click Get Started.
- Into the Portal field, enter " tunnel2.ut.ee" and click Connect.
Fill - the fields as following:
- Kasutajanimi: UT username.
- Salasõna: UT password. Click Enter the username and password of your University of Tartu account (login with username and password) and select Connect.
- VPN is connected.
Disconnecting the VPN connection
- To disconnect an active VPN connection, launch GlobalProtect by clicking on the downwards arrow on the right side of your screen (Show hidden icons) and selecting select GlobalProtect.
- Click Click Disconnect.
Updating the VPN client
- GlobalProtect VPN client software is updated centrally. If the client software update is available, the user gets notified about the newer version.
To update the software, agree to download downloading it by selecting Yes.
- Next, agree with the installation by clicking Yes.
