Introduction

When using cloud service, two-factor authentication is required: Activate Activating two-factor authentication in Microsoft 365.

Setup

NB!To use UT mailbox, the Thunderbird version must be at least 77. 
The latest Thunderbird can be downloaded from:

• Installing optional software (Software Center)
• Thunderbird website.

1. Open the Thunderbird application.
   
2. Fill in as follows:
   
   1. Your full name: your first name and last name
   2. Email address: UT e-mail addres in the format firstname.lastname@ut.ee
   3. Password: UT account password
   4. After entering the data, press the Continue button.

3. The IMAP settings will be displayed, press the Done button.
   
   If there is a need to change the IMAP settings, select Configure manually.
   
4. Enter your UT account password and click the Sign In button.
   
5. Verify your identity using two-factor authentication.
   
6. To allow the Mozilla Thunderbird applcation, select Accept.
   
7. Mozilla Thunderbird has been set up successfully! Click the Finish button to complete the installation.
