Setting up the VPN connection

1. Go to https://tunnel2.ut.ee.
2. Enter the username of your University of Tartu account in the Username field.
3. Enter the password associated with your account in the Password field.
   
4.  Click on the link that says Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect agent, to download the installer for your device.

5. Launch the installer and follow the instructions on the screen.
   If you don't have permissions to install software then contact the IT support.

6. Click Next → Next → Next.

7. In the end of the installation, you will see a confirmation, that GlobalProtect has been successfully installed. Click Close.

Establishing a VPN connection

1. To establish a VPN connection, you need to have GlobalProtect software installed on your computer.
2. Launch the GlobalProtect VPN software, an icon will appear at the notification area.

   . Click on the downwards arrow on the right side of your screen (Show hidden icons) and select GlobalProtect.

3. Click Get Started.

4. Into the Portal field, enter Right click on the icon, on the window that opens type "tunnel2.ut.ee" and then click " Connect".

5. After entering your username and password, click Sign In.

7. Fill the fields as following:
   1. Kasutajanimi: UT username.
   2. Salasõna: UT password.
   3. Click Connect.

8. VPN is connected.

Disconnecting the VPN connection

1. To disconnect an active VPN connection, right click on the GlobalProtect VPN icon.launch GlobalProtect by clicking on the downwards arrow on the right side of your screen (Show hidden icons) and selecting GlobalProtect.

2. Click Disconnect.

Updating VPN client

1. GlobalProtect VPN client software is updated centrally.

2. If the client software update is available, the user gets notified about the newer version.

   

3. To update the software, agree to download it.
4. Next, agree with the installation.
